Every month, Heaven’s Family helps far more people than we could ever highlight in our bi-monthly newsletter. For that reason, this page contains additional photos and stories of some of the “least of these” among our spiritual family whom we’ve recently been blessed to serve.
Our Heavens Family-supported chaplains in Goma, DR Congo are bringing God's physical care and God's amazing love to one of the worst, most feared prisons on earth.
We started our journey in southern Chin State, and by the time we started heading north, I'd made deals with elders from 7 villages where Heaven's Family has never served, villages with names like Gangaw, Cheng, Khuhlu, Ung and Tingsi. All but one of those 7 villages is predominantly Christian. In all, I promised loans totaling close to $50,000 that will initially benefit at least 250 families. Lord willing, they will prosper through agro-businesses.
Juan Munoz is a Mexican national missionary supported by the National Missionary Ministry of Heaven's Family. He has recently been leading teams of evangelists to reach remote, Nahuatl-speaking villages in the Puebla mountains of Mexico where descendants of the Aztec Indians live—often in dire poverty.
Dan and I recently returned from Uganda, where we were privileged once again to serve the Lord by serving the poor. Our first week started in the city of Entebbe, where we hosted a Small Business Training (SBT) conference for a very special group of parents and a new Heaven's Family micro-banker named Victoria Namusisi. One of our special blessings from God is the partners He joins us with in this work—they are truly modern-day heroes of our faith! Victoria is one such woman of God.
Marry Hkaung lives in the predominantly Buddhist nation of Myanmar among other Christians who have been displaced by ongoing conflicts between the government and rebel tribes. Until recently, her only access to God's Word was a Bible printed in a language she barely understands. But through a recent project supported by Heaven's Family, Marry has received her own copy of a Bible in her native tongue.
After several days of meeting families in villages where Heaven's Family is just beginning to work—and where parents are still sending their children away to institutional child care facilities (aka, orphanages)—it was refreshing to finally visit some villages where Heaven's Family is turning that tide of children through micro-loans. Having first met the people of Maul Zawl and Zatwal, neighboring villages in Northeast Chin State, in 2010, I was excited to see their progress.
