Every month, Heaven’s Family helps far more people than we could ever highlight in our bi-monthly newsletter. For that reason, this page contains additional photos and stories of some of the “least of these” among our spiritual family whom we’ve recently been blessed to serve.
Have you seen the movie The Good Lie? It's a sad glimpse into what some Sudanese people have gone through due to warring in their country. Some women have lost their husbands and all of their children. Others go through devastating traumas that can either take them down a path of despair or one of courage.
During this Christmas season we are reminded again of the greatest gift of love our Heavenly Father has ever given to his children—a gift He desires us to then give to others in ways only limited by our willingness and creativity. And we're so glad you've been willing to partner with us through the Human Trafficking & Slavery Ministry to show His love to those who've become victims, as well as those who are at great risk of becoming one.
The author of The Disciple Making Minister, David Servant, and I have a lot in common. We share the same first name, obviously, and we both work for Heaven's Family. But we also both wear glasses, and have strikingly dark, thick hair. This can sometimes cause confusion when corresponding with people overseas whom neither of us have met in person.
Last month in India I took part in a wonderful collaboration between Heaven's Family, Hope for Hansen's and Chamberlain College of Nurses—all for the purpose of pouring out God's love and compassion to leprosy victims in 20 colonies spread throughout Hyderabad and New Delhi, India.
Charity looks over her shoulder again at the cart she strapped to her bicycle. She double-checks all the connections, but each bump in the road gives her concern for her precious cargo. The small sacks of rice, oil, soap and medicine remain secure, however, so she breathes a sigh of relief. Back in her village, 30 North Korean Christian families are waiting patiently for her return—they depend on it.
In all of the villages that we've visited on this trip, I've yet to see a child with a toy. This is not to say that I haven't seen children playing or having fun. The children we've encountered never lack entertainment, all generated by themselves.
