While visiting a leprosy colony in Msambweni, Kenya last summer, I arrived just in time to witness a truly remarkable sight. Measurements were being taken to provide new shoes, prostheses and assistive devices for patients with ulcerated and degenerated feet and legs! Peter, the director of Blessed Camp, had taken a step of faith in inviting a rehabilitation team from Mombasa to assess the situation. The only problem, however, was that he didn't have the funds to pay for these much-needed shoes and orthotic aids.

BOOM(!) is the best way to describe the economic climate that has characterized China over the past few decades. This has caused millions of villagers, from remote regions, to migrate to the nation’s mega-cities. Much of this new surge in the population are from unreached people groups and, although this means that there are still millions of souls who have never heard the precious name of Jesus, God has continually paved the way so that we may be able to reach China’s unreached with the gospel in ways we’ve never been able to before.

Aliah and her family were forced to flee from their home. Isis had invaded Syria and, in the chaos that ensued, thousands of displaced Syrians desperately evacuated to nearby regions, quickly occupying any available shelters as they sought ways to provide for their families. Thankfully, Aliah was able to find a small room to rent where she and her three children could find some sort of refuge. Although unsuitable for a family of four, it was all she could afford.

Did you know that an estimated 800,000 people are currently living with disabilities in Haiti? A community within Port Au Prince, the capital of Haiti, Cite Soleil (meaning city of the sun) is home to many disabled Haitians. The earthquake of 2010 may have long since been forgotten by the media and the rest of the world, but 7 years later Haiti is still picking up the pieces. There continues to be no running water in many areas and sanitation is practically nonexistent as sewage runs freely through the streets. Thousands of homes need to be rebuilt and only 28% of all individuals who were injured during the earthquake received medical treatment.
