The four-year-old twins in the photo, Maria and Zainab, were born in May 2018 in Sierra Leone with both of their femurs bowing. They were diagnosed with Blount's disease. Thankfully, it was fixable! With surgery, both girls would be able to walk normally. But the girls' father earns just $120 a month as a teacher, making the $8,000 cost of the two surgeries completely unaffordable for their family.
Fifteen-year-old Hesatin's fate seemed sealed. He would spend the rest of his life working in the opium fields, just like his mother. There was no other work available in their remote village in Myanmar, especially without an education. And there was no way to obtain an education on the meager wages they made from working the fields. But then Hesatin's life took an unexpected and dramatic turn.
Often, life isn't easy or fair, but believers can trust in a loving and just God. As 1 Peter 2:19 (NLT) tells us, "For God is pleased when, conscious of His will, you patiently endure unjust treatment."
"I wonder if this quarantine facility is anything like the re-education camps so prevalent here," Seth Li though to himself. Seth, one of our team members, had traveled deep into Xinjiang Province before being quarantined because of COVID-19 protocols. "Maybe they will put me in a re-education camp, just as they have done to millions of Uighur people and Christians, when I get out of quarantine," he wondered.

A widow with four children, Hnin Nu was completely alone. She had no family, no job, and a pile of debt. Her oldest child was only three years old when a "friend" tricked her into prostitution, where she was trapped and enslaved for two years.
