Every month, Heaven’s Family helps far more people than we could ever highlight in our bi-monthly newsletter. For that reason, this page contains additional photos and stories of some of the “least of these” among our spiritual family whom we’ve recently been blessed to serve.
Whenever someone asks me if Heaven's Family is "just a Christian humanitarian organization" that is not involved in preaching the gospel, I'm ready with an answer.
The plea was urgent: a woman in a distant village was sick and was requesting prayer from the man whom God heard. James Levi quickly followed the messengers into the night, not knowing he was being set up for an ambush. Hiding in the darkness along his route, an angry mob of militant Hindus waited to stone him to death.
Belly Otienio pedaled his bicycle nine long miles with the weight of a passenger riding on the back, yet he was full of joy. There had been a time when he had no bicycle. Worse, there had been a time when he was unable to even walk. But now he was serving the God who had worked miracles for him. His heart pounded with thankfulness.
It was an ironic turn of events. The very people who had forbidden Christians to draw water from their well, forcing them to walk for miles to gather water at a mountain stream, now found their "Hindu-only" well had gone dry. The Christians, however, now had their own well, provided by Heaven's Family. Would the believers in Budamaha village treat their persecutors as their persecutors had treated them?
"How were you healed so quickly?" a friend asked 11-year-old Lois when she returned to school after being sick. Lois boldly replied, "My God not only saved my soul, but if we believe in Him, we can be healed from our sicknesses too!" Lois' courageous witness has piqued the curiosity of many of her classmates, and they are now showing interest in learning more about Jesus.
