A Desperate Reboot

Last February many of our friends in Malawi lost their maize (corn) crops and homes when a cyclone caused devastating floods—the worst in the recorded history of this East African nation. Working together with Jeff Trotter, my good friend and coworker who directs the Disaster Relief Fund, Heaven's Family sent emergency supplies to meet their pressing needs.

Relief Pours In

"Daddy, I'm happy that we will have rice in our dinner today." Those were the words of a little boy who lives in a flood-ravaged village in Myanmar after receiving emergency rice from Heaven's Family. And for people who eat rice as the primary staple of every meal, that's tantamount to him saying he's happy to have air to breathe!

On the (Dusty) Road to Success

Edwin Wanyonyi is from Saboti, Kenya. When Edwin first received his $730 micro-loan from Heaven's Family, he was barely able to support his wife, mother and two sisters, surviving only on the odd jobs that Edwin could scrounge up. After Edwin received approval of his business plan early in 2014, he used his loan to purchase a motorbike to start a taxi business.

David Servant takes you to the unreached mountain villages of Burma…

This month, I'd like to share with you a need of a dear friend who is laying his life down to train missionaries to reach hundreds of Burmese villages with the Good News. Burma (also known as Myanmar) is a mostly Buddhist nation in Southeast Asia whose 60,000+ villages are strewn across breathtaking mountain ranges, wide valleys, and fertile deltas. Many of the villages are only accessible on motorbike—or days of hiking on foot. When I've visited some of these villages, I have often been the first person with white skin they had ever seen!
