Every month, Heaven’s Family helps far more people than we could ever highlight in our bi-monthly newsletter. For that reason, this page contains additional photos and stories of some of the “least of these” among our spiritual family whom we’ve recently been blessed to serve.
Here we are at the end of another year. Time to once again ask ourselves the tough questions. Why do we do this? Lord, are we to continue this work into another year?
This past fall, thanks to contributors with giving hearts, the Victims of Sexual Violence Ministry raised $1,500 for school supplies for 155 students attending Cindi's Hope Academy campuses in Nairobi and Naivasha, Kenya.
Moving into eastern Uganda, I met up with Victoria Namusisi—a remarkable woman by any standards. For much of her life, Victoria served as a government official in charge of purchasing and acquisitions. But she became disenchanted with the corruption and walked away from a comfortable salary and prestigious position in order to help those less fortunate.
It has been nearly 30 hours since embarking on my journey and I am just now able to catch a few hours rest. My most rewarding experiences, when on the road, are when I experience different cultures, backgrounds, and socio-economic statuses.
As the end of 2016 approaches, we are in awe of what God has accomplished in and through the Micro-Loan Ministry (MLM) this year. The MLM not only continues to grow in our number of borrowers and micro-bankers, but also within our own team.
In my last blog, I told you the story of how American Joseph Zanetti began serving the Badjao people who live in a section of the Isla Verde slum on the Philippine coast of Davao City. It was the Badjao who first built their stilted huts, decades ago, over waters that were then teeming with tropical fish.
